A journey of discovery for everyone

The 2024 established natural history museum of the UZH promotes understanding and enthusiasm for the beauty and diversity of nature and presents current research. It is an inspiring place for people of all ages who love nature and are thirsty for knowledge.

Monitoring – restricted access to the basement

During monitoring, all specimens are checked for possible insect infestation. Due to this process, the basement will be closed to visitors from 23 March 2026 to 20 April 2026 and from 3 May 2026 to 3 July 2026, Tuesday to Friday. As this measure reduces the number of permitted visitors, waiting times may occur, especially in bad weather.

The basement is opened normally at weekends.

The museum is afiliated with the Faculty of Science.
