Our kinship

The origins of modern humans go back many millions of years. Among the most important pieces of evidence are fossils, including skeletons, skulls and often just bone fragments. Here we present 11 important early human species. All exhibited skulls are casts.

The relationships are complex and often the subject of scientific debate. Nevertheless, every new discovery of fossils brings valuable insights and challenges us to question existing hypotheses again and again.
